The first Swiss manufacture in the collection: the Looping, unknown reference, 51 calibre, 15 jewels, 8 day power reserve and alarm complication; 18,600 bph. Made in the 60’s, this travel alarm and desk clock has made it with practically zero aesthetic damage, all of its original parts and apparently not a single service.
The dial developed an exquisite patina that has kept its original lume in pristine condition, containing arabic numerals and a slight relief. Surprises don’t end there though; a brass hand indicates the set time of the alarm, with 120 steps along its 12 numerals, giving the complication 10 minute intervals. A pair of blued quenched steel hands, indicate the hour and minutes; making it posible to see the time for a few minutes during the night thanks to the lume they also preserve 100% intact. Everything behind a hardlex crystal that remains optically clear (and probably the only piece ever replaced).
The mechanism is encapsulated in a very solid brass body, with a decorated and polished bezel, and finished with a slight brushing over its 4 standoffs that place it perfectly square against any desk, table, or furniture.
On the back, we find a set of knobs and crowns that almost look like a control panel: time set, alarm set, two keys for the pair of power reserve -for the watch and alarm, a mechanical switch for the complication, and a window for adjusting the best of the regulating organ.
80 years from its fabrication, still running and working perfectly. The epitome of watchmaking: a timepiece that’s been telling the time literally for a lifetime.
